I don't know about you, but I want to make a difference. And, bringing Micah home wasn't enough...remember the story in the Bible about the Widow's Mite? In a way, I feel as if bringing Micah home was giving to God "out of my abundance". We can all see on the news every night, giving out of our abundance has been a pitiful attempt to be the hands and feet of Jesus to a broken & hurting world.
I'm ready to give out of "my poverty".
This blog is dedicated to the children who are waiting for all of God's people to give out of our poverty...if we continue to give only out of our abundance, they simply have no hope...they wait in vain...
And he sat down opposite the treasury and watched the people putting money into the offering box. Many rich people put in large sums. And a poor widow came and put in two small copper coins, which make a penny. And he called his disciples to him and said to them, “Truly, I say to you, this poor widow has put in more than all those who are contributing to the offering box. For they all contributed out of their abundance, but she out of her poverty has put in everything she had, all she had to live on.”
Matthew 12:41-44

I love what you're doing with this blog. Could you tell me where you read the stats on adoptions out of Ethiopia? I'm trying to put together an information booth about adoption and in particular, adoption from Ethiopia and that would be great to have a source for.
ReplyDeleteWe're bringing home two (God willing) little boys very soon!
Thanks,
Lori
Lori-
ReplyDeleteI read the 1/3000 stat on the Kidmia Foundation blog, and the # of US families that adopted from Ethiopia at dhs.gov-
Hope that helps...
Grace,
Alisa
